This wedding was an entire weekend affair, which made photographing these Telluride wedding photos at San Sophia Overlook all that much more special. Jenny and Sierra are such an amazing couple. After a long drive from Denver these two invited me out for pizza, which really made me feel like one of the family there for the wedding. I have to be honest that at this point in my wedding career I was still learning (and still am) about marketing to LGTBTQ+ clients and ensuring they are feeling included and represented in my work. I have to thank these two for their kind suggestions in pointing out a few things I didn’t catch, like my questionnaire wording. They really put me on a different path and their attention to detail and patience is something I think about often, even to this day! Even though we had only met via Skype before their wedding, and friended each other on Facebook, it was a great way to get to know them. Meeting them in person was even better!
The wedding itself was the day before the Fourth of July. That meant there were tons of amazing festivities around Telluride. From getting ready at the New Sheridan Hotel to the ceremony on top of the mountain – everything was perfect. After the ceremony, we stopped by some of the holiday fun and enjoyed a bar with balloon fun, bull riding, and then zorbing on water. I’ll never forget how much fun it was. The evening ended with a sweet little reception back down in Telluride. However, the next day these two invited me to join them at their hotel again to watch some of the Fourth of July parade. A fantastic ending to such a great weekend!
